Module 1:Learning Songs Faster. Be Expertly Prepared for Gigs
Using my âAccelerated Gig Mastery" Formula
I teach you expert strategies to learn songs quickly and land more professional gigs. You will add 20 new songs to your repertoire (focused in the classic rock, americaana.
Most piano courses are focused on learning & practicing music theory, (notes, keys, chords, etc) & technical skills (playing scales) on the keyboard.
These methods focus students on repetitive drills that, while they may teach some technical fundamentals, are usually forgotten quickly after the lesson.
Not everyone learns the same way.
While theory and technique are important to have in your toolkit, it takes a unique set of skills to be successful at playing in a working band, where time is at a premium and performance demands are high.
My "Accelerated Gig Mastery" method applies an interactive, multimedia approach to learning songs.
Rather than just watching a teacher run drills and you try to copy it, you will be immersed in a variety of learning formats designed specifically to help you master songs faster.
Whatâs most important to being a successful âband keyboardistâ is mastering the song forms and supporting the artist, not noodling around or trying to solo like Keith Emerson.
Think of this as a âroadmap plus gig survival toolkitâ, designed to help you ascend the mountain of keyboard performance success,
You will need to know the best, most efficient route to take in order to ascend that mountain quickly and safely.
Module 2: Dialing In Pro-Level Vintage Sounds
GET THAT CLASSIC TONE AT A MORE AFFORDABLE PRICE POINT
In the world of Americana, Blues, Country, Rock 'N Roll, etc. it's all abou having that classic keyboard sound palette.
I will show you how to achieve classic sounds for your gigs like Hammond Organs, Upright Piano, Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer, and Clavinet.
Most coaches point you to specific vintage keyboards that you need to buy from a boutique shop or risk getting scammed on Ebay.
These instruments are costly, require constant maintenance, and heavy to transport to gigs.
This doesn't work. It forces you to haul heavy gear around, and pray that the gear won't break down on a gig.
Plus, you need to rely on expensive technicians, or spend your time learning how to repair vintage instrument.
Instead, I'll show you a variety of analog modeling instruments and software that can achieve a realistic vintage tone at a fraction of the cost, with no worries about gig reliability or maintenance costs.
Module 3: Networking for More Gigs
PROVIDING VALUE UP-FRONT + THE POWER OF âYESâ
What most âWeekend Warriorâ musicians do: watch YouTube videos, join âmusicians wantedâ forums, or join facebook groups in the hopes that someone will hire them from those online platforms.
This lacks personal connection, also these people are basically at the same level you are.
I provide you with training and support to show you the conversational, value-first way to build relationships instead of using the typical âpost & prayâ tactics seen everyone on musician forums and social media.
Weâll also dive into mindset training like the âPower of Saying Yesâ and realizing that sometimes there are other values to playing a gig besides the monetary aspect -(i.e. building your network, connecting to other musicians for potential future projects, creating video / social media content to build your personal brand.)
Itâs also important to remember to plug other musiciansâ projects and cross-promote them on your socials - building goodwill and a positive, community-focused attitude is everything.
Youâll be known as the âFirst Callâ keyboards pro in your musician community; often called on to gig at least 5x / month.
Think of me as your music networking coach, helping you to set up a system to play great on gigs, gain a positive reputation, and build a personal network that results in a steady stream of gig referrals and a busy performance calendar.
“Chris Strange is an exemplary musician and human being. I have had the great privilege to share the stage with him. Chris always shows up on time with a can do attitude. The constructive feedback he gives during rehearsals solidifies that he cares about any given project heâs in and gives the project the attention as if it were his own. Chris comes prepared with charts and a smile that looks great on stage. His onstage persona meets the energy of any band. Chris goes above and beyond, not only learning the songs, but embodying the performance that elevates the show. It is a pleasure to hear Chris play and to have become friends.” - Nathaniel Hintz
