Chris Strange is a working keyboardist. For decades he's made a living playing live — roots rock, Americana, classic rock, blues, soul, funk, reggae and tribute productions across Connecticut, New York City and New England.
He came up in the Connecticut and New York music scenes, drawn to vintage keyboard instruments — the Hammond, the Rhodes, the Wurlitzer, the clavinet — and the particular way each one sits in a track and supports a singer.
Over the years he's performed with a long list of bands and artists: the Alpaca Gnomes, The Last Waltz Band, Born in the USA, Tom Petty Night, Old Bob, Van Morrison Night, The Juicy Grapes, The Wild Honey Pies, and held a residency as house keyboardist for the Bowieball shows at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan.
Beyond the stage, Chris records and produces — building a catalog of vintage-inspired production music for sync licensing — and has spent over twenty years coaching keyboardists, helping them learn songs faster and become more confident, more employable live players.
